April 18, 2024 – Maine Water will replace 1,560 linear feet of water main along Central Street beginning in April. The $567,000 investment in infrastructure replaces water mains that are more than 50 years old.
By proactively replacing aging water lines, customers benefit from improved water quality, increased flow of water for fire protection and enhanced reliability to the area. Proactively replacing lines also saves money over having to replace lines during an emergency.
Streets impacted by the project include Central Street, Massachusetts Avenue and Cedar Street.
The project is scheduled to be complete in the fall.
