Saco, Maine, July 1, 2024 — Maine Water will replace 1,900 linear feet of water main along Beach Street beginning in July. The $1.35 million investment in infrastructure will increase reliability and improve quality for customers in the area.
Existing water mains in the area are more than 120 years old, installed in about 1900. By proactively replacing aging water lines, customers benefit from improved water quality, increased flow of water for fire protection and enhanced reliability to the area. Proactively replacing lines also saves money over having to replace lines during an emergency.
Streets impacted by the project include Beach Street, Homestead Lane, Hall Avenue, Emerson Avenue, Promenade Avenue, Lawn Avenue and Old Orchard Road.
The project is scheduled to be complete by the fall.
